Disney: Day 2

We’ve just arrived in the hotel after a very ironic beginning to day two in Disney. After fighting sleep last night, Ryan decided that today would be the first day in his two and a half years of life that he’d sleep in until 8. For those who remember, our little man has been on antibiotics for a double ear infection, medicine he absolutely hates. In typical Ryanesque style, he decided this morning, as we were trying to rush out the door, that he’d had enough and would make himself vomit all over the floor of our room. Now, this sucked. What’s worse though is that, with this action, he has extended his record for puking on Disney vacations to a record 2 for 2. Congratulations to him. We’re sending the dirty towel to the parenting hall of fame for their records.

Needless to say his sleeping until 8 threw us for a curve. Planning our entire second day around the idea of waking up at 5:15 as we have, nearly like clockwork, for the past two and a half years, we had to be flexible. We arrived at the park and hit Dumbo’s ride and a few other key stops, had lunch and saw Santa in the Christmas parade. From there we stuck to the most important plan, nap time.

Now, we’ve been hit by one of Florida’s famous rain storms which, I’m hopeful, will pass soon. As it is, we’ll have three or so hours of downtime while our young rider recharges his batteries. I need a cup of coffee and am debating whether I should float over to the restaurant or stay here. I think a lot will be dictated by our plans for tonight. If we’re going back to the Magic Kingdom tonight, I’m getting that coffee!
